Graduation

Undergraduate students

To graduate from Swinburne with a degree you must first ensure you complete a degree registration form. Students are required to complete 24 units and meet the degree requirements to be eligible to graduate from their degree. Students who have completed all units required for the degree into which they registered, should complete an application to graduate available from the Awards and Ceremonies Department of Swinburne.

Students who have completed units with another provider, either via OUA or direct, must ensure that a transcript showing completion of these units are forwarded to Swinburne University of Technology. Swinburne is not able to obtain results from OUA, or any other university you may have studied at, because of privacy laws. Before applying to graduate please send your transcripts and an Application for Exemption form to:

Note: Students who, on application to graduate, do not have the required 24 units and/or program structure and/or have not provided transcripts of units completed at another provider will be deemed ineligible for graduation.

Postgraduate Students

Postgraduate students are registered in a degree program upon acceptance to the program. Students must complete the required number of units as outlined below in the required program structure:

Graduate Certificate – 4 units
Graduate Diploma – 8 units
Masters – 12 units

Students who have completed all units required for the program into which they registered, should complete an application to graduate available from the Awards and Ceremonies Department of Swinburne
