Examinations
Some units will have examinations included as part of their assessment. For these units students are required to arrange for an invigilator to supervise their examination and to guarantee that strict examination conditions are met.
An Examination Invigilation
Form (for Swinburne units) will be sent to you with the study materials you receive
at the start of the study period and must be completed and returned
to Swinburne University, by the end of week 8. A $50 late penalty will be applied for forms submitted after week 8.
An invigilator can be a minister of religion, police officer, lecturer, school teacher, justice of the peace, accountant, solicitor, librarian, doctor or an authorised invigilator service. The person you nominate must also be currently employed in one of these professions and should not be a close relative or friend. Please note that any costs incurred in arranging an invigilator will not be reimbursed by Swinburne or Open Universities Australia.
Deferred Examination
In exceptional circumstances it may be possible to re-schedule the date/time of an examination. Requests to change the details of a scheduled examination must be made in writing to the unit convener prior to the scheduled date, and must include documentary evidence to support your request.
