About Open Universities Australia

Open Universities Australia is owned and partnered by seven Australian Universities:

  • Curtin University of Technology
  • Griffith University
  • Macquarie University
  • Monash University
  • RMIT
  • Swinburne University of Technology
  • University of South Australia

The courses are developed by 18 academic providers. The units you study and the qualifications you achieve are issued by these universities and other providers, and are identical to those awarded to on-campus students. The only difference is you learn at your own pace, when and where it suits you.

Open Universities Australia provides information about what you can study, a one-stop registration service, advice and support to assist you with your study. The partner universities and colleges provide the course materials and academic support, assess your progress and award your qualifications.

Unlike on-campus study, places are not limited. You can study throughout the year, and for entry level courses there are no pre-requisites or Year 12 entry requirements. To find out more about Open Universities Australia please visit www.open.edu.au
