  • David Baru
    David Baru was born and raised in Canada, but has been Australian almost 20 years. He is a freelance journalist and contributes regularly to Men’s Style and DNA. His novel The Amnesia Club was published by Minerva Press in 1996. He is currently studying for his Masters In Creative Writing at Melbourne University and working on a follow up novel.
  • Carolyn Beasley
    Carolyn Beasley is a Melbourne based writer. She tutors writing in Swinburne University 's Master of Arts program and is currently completing a PhD in Writing. A collection of her short stories titled 'The Memory of Marble' is published by Rockview Press. Her writing has been published in Australia and overseas.
  • Jennifer Cook
    Jennifer graduated with BA Hons in History from Melbourne University in 1989 and is currently doing a Masters by Coursework in Creative Writing at Melbourne University. She is the author of two young adult novels, "Ariadne: the Maiden and the Minotaur" and "Persephone: Secrets of a Teenage Goddess" (Lothian 2003 and 2004).
  • Carol-Anne Croker
    Carol-Anne Croker is the epitome of the student addicted to study and the interplay of ideas. Despite residing on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula she is completing her PhD by Exegesis and Artefact at Swinburne's Lilydale Campus. Carol-Anne has been awarded an Australian Postgraduate Research Award and recently completed an internship at the Melbourne Writers Festival.
  • Barbara Malpass Edwards
    Barbara completed her on-line MA in Writing, at Swinburne, in 2004. She enjoyed it so much she decided to try for the PhD and began that process this year (2007). She hopes that what she does for the exegesis will add a skerrick of knowledge to the grand total.
  • Kate Jensen
    Kate Jensen is pursuing her Masters of Creative Writing, Publishing & Editing at the University of Melbourne. Originally from the United States, she has worked in media and journalism.
  • Lainie Jones
    Lainie Jones is currently writing a memoir spanning three generations for a PhD thesis in Creative Writing at Southern Cross University. Her research focuses on issues of self-worth in 20th century women. Prior to this study, Lainie worked as a commercial artist and then as a teacher of adult education in TAFE.
  • Helen O'Brien
    Helen O'Brien is currently undertaking a PhD in Writing at Swinburne. As a classical pianist, her interest in fortepiano led her to perform around Australia and broadcast for ABC radio. Helen's academic writing pursuits include piano pedagogy and music in film while her creative writing is centered on poetry and song texts.
  • Sue Page
    Sue Page, PhD, teaches creative writing and children's literature at the University of South Australia. Her publications include fiction and articles for scholarly and general publications.
  • Bronwyne Thomason
    Bronwyne Thomason has earned a Bachelor of Arts (Writing) with First Class Honours from ECU, and is studying for her Master of Arts in Writing with Swinburne University. She has won places in several short story and poetry competitions, and her most recent achievement is to have been selected as Emerging Writer in Residence for the FAWWA at Tom Collins House in 2007.
  • Vickie Roach
    Vickie Roach is a 48 year old Indigenous woman from Sydney, NSW, serving a prison sentence of four years in a Melbourne jail. She has completed a Master of Arts in Writing and is currently studying for her PhD. Vickie's stories and poetry have been published throughout Australia.
  • Tang Yi
    Tang Yi was born in Shanghai in 1983. She received her BA of Chinese Language and Literature from Xiamen University, China and her MA of Creative Writing from The University of Melbourne. She was awarded H.B. Higgins Poetry Scholarships 2007 and her works have been published in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Australia and UK. She writes poetry bilingually (English and Mandarin).
