Collaboration and consultation
The project has been managed by the Sustainability Team, a cross departmental team from the City of Marion and Swinburne’s Centre for Regional Development who have worked collaboratively through each stage of the project.
To introduce and engender wide ownership of the project, a series of workshops and focus groups were conducted with elected members, the Executive Management Group (EMG), City of Marion staff and stakeholders. These contributors were also instrumental in the development of a vision of a “Sustainable Marion” based on the results of the Community Plan consultation process and workshop outcomes. The vision is focused on a description of a Sustainable City of Marion in 2020 and provides contextual clarity for both the goal and indicators which are essentially the measure of progress towards this vision.
